R James Van Dyke (Ron) is a singer/songwriter from Bowen Island BC, the quintessential jewel of the Pacific Northwest just a short ferry ride from Vancouver Canada. He works from his home recording studio where he focuses on writing & producing his own material.

Van Dyke has been involved in the passion of music all his life buying his 1st guitar from a mail order catalog at 10 & writing his 1st song at 13. Believing that everything starts with the song, his early influences were the writers - Bob Dylan, Leonard Cohen,
Lightfoot, Neil Young, Robbie Robertson & Don Henley. He started playing at youth group concerts & then really cut his teeth in smoky Toronto bars such as The Gasworks, Red Lion, opening for budding rock groups like Rush.
Involved in various bands over the years, most recently the high energy, up tempo Vancouver dance band TAKEN, this has now been put to rest to focus 100% on original music.

Along the way Van Dyke has been awarded a FACTOR grant & has won several singer/songwriter contests, most notably a Nashville Music City Song Writing contest that garnered him top ranking for the lyric & vocal of his song Without You. His haunting, "Keeper Of The Light", a story song of a solitary light keeper at an isolated coastal out post, won 1st place at the annual Bowfest singer/song writing competition in 2009 & was recently picked up by a local film maker for the documentary The Cape On Bowen -What’s at stake? Part 1 (on YouTube). Recently Ron was a semi finalist in the UK Songwriting Contest for his song "Home"

Van Dyke, an active member of the Nashville Songwriter’s Association International (NSAI), is completing a CD & is interested in song writing collaborations with upcoming & established artists as well as licensing & publishing deals.
